CircuitMaker is now out of Beta!

The ALTIUM team has just announced that their free PCB designing platform “CircuitMaker” has just come out of its beta phase into a new release v1.1.

If you have tried CircuitMaker before you would know how powerful it is as well as how buggy and irritating it can be. The new release of CircuitMaker promises to fix most of bugs that has been reported by the users as well as by themselves.

But this is not just a bug fix release, with the new update the CircuitMaker team is pushing the software more towards the collaborative side of PCB designing. There are now wide variety of adding documentations towards your project such as adding pictures, videos and documentations; giving you an opportunity to make  blog type setup for your project. Through this the community would find it easier to “fork” your project and follow it for further updates. Hence it is quite clear that this release is a further advancement in the community side of PCB designing as well as the open source nature of projects.

I have personally find that CircuitMaker is a boon for the startup culture which has been spurring up these days. Especially in developing countries such as India where the government is pushing really hard to get young entrepreneurs involved. Since this is a free tool hence it provides great opportunities for such business to convert their dreams into reality. So far I had good experience with this software and already developed an AVR development board.
